Our agency is raising funds to provide those battling cancer with the emotional healthcare and support that they need during treatment and recovery. Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids provides free emotional healthcare to children and adults who are in different stages of dealing with cancer or have lost a loved one in their life as a result of other causes.
Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids began when 3 survivors of cancer realized that there was a need for more resources in the form of social and emotional support to those who have gone through the process of dealing with cancer in any way. GIlda’s Club was born and the program is set up like a home in the heart of a residential neighborhood. It is a place of warmth and support in the local community. On September 23rd, the organization will have their West Side Walk for Gilda’s in support of those battling cancer. The event has raised $45,000 in the past and the organization is hoping to raise even more this year!
